Resource Development Program
THE CHALLENGE

In today’s business world, where technology needs surpass IT resources, fast-growing companies face three possible scenarios:

  • Status Quo: You continue to pour money into hiring new staff just to keep up with new technologies.

  • Worst-case Scenario: IT positions go unfilled resulting in a failure to take full advantage of IT’s power, and you lose market share to your competitors.

  • Best-case Scenario: You collaboratively “InSource” key components of your IT environment, keep the key individuals you have, and implement the value-added technology initiatives that increase your competitiveness.

Managers of today’s IT departments are faced with the challenge of keeping pace with changes in technology by finding qualified professionals with specific skills at a reasonable cost.  This shortage has inflated salaries and increased recruiting costs, which in turn have placed increased pressure on IT budgets that are already strained by new competitive initiatives.  As a result, major project initiatives are being postponed or canceled, threatening many revenue-enhancing and cost-reducing opportunities.  The problem is certain to worsen as demand for programmer/analysts with the right mix of skills and experience will once again take off when the U.S. economy recovers.  The company that is able to solve this problem will gain a significant strategic advantage over its competition.

THE SOLUTION

Our solution to this problem is The SES Resource Development Program (RDP).  This program is designed to provide needed personnel, lower the total cost of immediate projects, and assure a supply of qualified professionals for your future projects.  There is no reason to postpone or cancel important projects or to hire under-qualified staff.  SES has the solution!

HOW IT WORKS

The SES Resource Development Program is a partnership arrangement between SES and our client.  Working collaboratively with our client, SES will design a training program that fits the desired skill sets of the client.  The program will produce talented programmers who are trained in the client’s business and technical environments and ready for project work.  It is a win-win alliance that will provide a less expensive solution to today’s personnel problems while laying the groundwork for a lasting relationship that benefits both of our organizations.

In brief, the RDP works as follows:
  • The client will designate a project to be completed by the RDP team.  Although the chosen project will vary in size, it must be large enough to support a mentored group of at least three new programmers.  (A minimum team of 6 people is required)

  • SES will recruit individuals with reasonably new skills that stress the client’s desired technology (J2EE, and the like).

  • SES will customize the RDP training program to meet the client’s specific requirements.

  • SES will conduct an intensive training program that specifically focuses on the client’s systems, standards, and procedures.  The emphasis is on making the new employee productive as quickly as possible.

  • Upon completion of the initial training, the trainee will be assigned to the designated project and work under the guidance of experienced team members who will serve as mentors.

  • SES will provide additional training such as brown bag seminars and/or half-day group training sessions, as necessary and at appropriate times.

  • To assure knowledge transfer at project completion a selection process will take place, which allows the client to hire up to 50% of the RDP candidates associated with the project.  All at no additional charge…
In summary, although individual RDP projects will vary, one thing remains the same.  The SES Resource Development Program will provide your company with the benefits of a completed project and highly qualified employees, all at a substantially reduced cost!  With these kinds of benefits, why wait?
